Katie Ledecky sets new Olympic record in 1500 free finals

Katie Ledecky, again, has dominated the women’s 1500 meter freestyle.
In her fourth Olympic games, Ledecky won her eighth career gold medal – and 12th overall medal – Wednesday at the Paris La Défense Arena, in the women’s 1500m freestyle final. This time, she set an Olympic record, surpassing her own mark set in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
This is an event that has become a hallmark of Ledecky’s dominance. Ledecky, 27, is both the world record holder and the Olympic record holder in the event. She’s undefeated in the 1500 in her professional career, having won five world titles and also holds the 20 fastest times in the event’s history.
